Winter Spinach in bed 1 and bed 3

Today another lovely day, we noticed that the onion sets that we planted a few weeks ago have now started to grow. This was great as it showed us where there were spare rows in which to sow the Medana Spinach.

As up to now we have only planted onion sets and garlic cloves, We looked at the difference in shapes  and sizes of seeds,  The spinach is one of the smaller varieties (unlike beans and peas) but big enough for the children to handle.

We did some measuring, setting out a line to make sure the rows are straight, counting the seeds and sowing them.
