Radishes are ready to harvest

Today a group of children came to the gardens to weed the beds, harvest the strawberries and the radishes that had been sown by one of the children a few weeks ago.

We cleaned them and offered them to the kitchen Supervisor who told me that they could not accept any food that was not sourced through their suppliers.

This made me have to re-think my plans for next term, as it would be a great shame to grow all these vegetables with love and care and then they would not be used.

Decision made:
All the vegetables that we grow will be grown for the children to eat at home.
Plants can be grown to be sold to parents to grow into their own gardens or grow bags (Aldi is in walking distance from the school and I noticed they sell grow bags so very handy)

Don't grow any vegetables that would need to be harvested between  end July and early September.

Set up a vegetable shop.
