Lots of sowing today

Classes 1,3 and 5 came to help finish the sowing that we had planned for last week's Gardening club
We looked at different seeds and noticed that they had different shapes and sizes.

Today we sowed, a winter squashes Delicate, which tastes a bit like sweet potatoes
Butternut squashes, small cucumbers (good for pickling) and market more cucumbers (larger ones)
We also sowed green and yellow courgettes.

After we harvest our produce in June our beds will become available for us to transplant some of the squashes mentioned previously so that when we come back from our summer holidays we will have loads of vegetables for the school shop.

Even though we had some serious rain showers in the last couple of days, we still needed to water the potatoes (in buckets)  and the strawberry plants, which are now in flower.

We harvested rhubarb and purple sprouting broccoli from the kitchen garden which were sold after school by Elizabeth, Tia, Tyler and Alice. They did a great job running the shop; weighing, promoting, taking the money and displaying the produce.
